Cellar Door/ Vineyard Interface Supervisor (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

  1. In order to meet the requirements for this position, the applicants must have knowledge of vineyard functionality. The applicant have full knowledge of both the cellar door responsibilities, restaurant (front of the house) functions such as waiting tables and managing busboys and dishwashers, full understanding of Waiheke style wines, knowledge of Bordeaux (France) style wines, knowledge of champagne and how it is made, and vineyard work such as pruning, picking, plucking and more.
  2. Knowledge of ALL of the vineyards on Waiheke, what they produce, location and services offered.
  3. The applicant will need to have knowledge in event and communication to work on the image of the vineyard, helping during the event on site and during national events.
  4. As the applicant will be responsible for training new employees in all aspects of the cellar door function knowledge and experience in teaching and training is mandatory.
  5. Applicant will be responsible to procure all of the orders taken and be responsible for packing and shipping. 
  6. Applicant will be responsible for inventory and stock control of all wine related products
  7. Applicant should have knowledge of banking in order to prepare the deposits and register balancing.
  8. Applicant must have full knowledge of social media to post information about the cellar door and our wines.
  9. The applicant must have full command of the English language: both oral and written skills mandatory at it will be necessary to communicate in writing (letters and emails). There will be a requirement for data entry and work on spread sheets.

Job requirements:

  1. The applicant must have a knowledge of the wine  industry in New Zealand
  2. The applicant must have worked at a MINIMUM of one vineyards on Waiheke only in all aspects of the above.
  3. The applicant must have a valid New Zealand Managers LCQ license
  4. The applicant must have a  level 9 of study (master degree) in communication and event
  5. The applicant will be responsible for some food preparation and must have some previous work experience in hospitailty. 
  6. The applicant must have vineyard a minimum of one year of vineyard experience.
  7. The application must additionally have experience working in a cellar door conducting wine and bubbles tasting and tutorials.
  8. The applicant must have full command of the English language and both oral and written skills are an asset.
  9. The candidate must be educated to degree level 9.
  10. IT Knowledge is requirement for data entry and work on spread sheets.
  11. Banking knowledge to assist in end of day procedures.
  12. The applicant must have some degree of teaching and instruction knowledge and can demonstrate with references from previous employment.
