We are looking for an energetic Senior Sales Person who is entrepreneurial minded, thrives on opportunity, appreciates being rewarded for performance and thinks big, yet gets the detail right.
The successful candidate will have experience selling premium wine to the trade - on and off premise. Equally, the candidate must be a self-starter, a natural people person and effective networker. Be able to lead and develop business whilst also having enthusiasm for teamwork. Find solutions to challenges and have excellent social, verbal, telephone and writing skills. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize are imperative.
Key aspects of our sales success are rooted in great wines, positive client relationships and exceptional service. This position will allow flexibility in hours to accommodate the needs of clients and promotional activities. From time to time, weekend or evening hours may be required. We engage technology to work smarter and more efficiently in all areas so the candidate must have strong computer and mathematical skills and the ability to work in the field as easily as in the office.
Sales 95%
- Develop and drive new and existing account business, with a special focus to on and off premise and independent retail
- Organize promotional wine dinners and tastings to support annual marketing activities
- Conduct regular staff trainings
- Organize and support weekly promotional retail tastings
Administration 5%
- Manage trade accounts to include invoice generation, order processing & A/R’s
- Maintain up to date sales reporting and planning via the company CRM
- Action wine delivery logistics as required
- Provide high touch customer service
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification in Business or relevant subject
- Proven and successful sales experience with a minimum of 5 years in wine sales
- Report to and meet sales budget
- Professional and capable with a positive, energetic attitude, excellent judgment and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and selling skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Ability to balance multiple demands, prioritize tasks and retain clear focus in a busy environment
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MAC computing, Apple applications, Excel, Word and PPT
- Must have and maintain a valid NZ driver’s licence
- Proficiency in English is mandatory
- Hold a NZ General Manager's Certificate (Liquor) or completed LCQ training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 18 kilos (a case of wine)
- Must be able to easily climb and navigate stairs
- This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand.
- The successful candidate must have legal eligibility to work and live in New Zealand.

- Salary is commensurate with the position & skill set
