Costing Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

An opportunity currently exists within the Operations Finance team for the role of Costing Analyst. Reporting to the Finance Manager - Costing, this role provides cost analysis reports for the bottling and warehouse operations in Tamaki.  We are open to this role being based in either Auckland, Napier or Blenheim. This involves the preparation of costing variance reports in annual, quarterly and monthly formats for executive and operational stakeholders and the validation of inventory levels and values.

The role is responsible for identifying and concisely communicating manufacturing variances from the Auckland bottling plant, monitoring stock levels and communicating movements to senior management and preparing costs for new products.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual analysis and commentary on actual and forecast/budget manufacturing variance (MV) for bottle wine variance, dry materials including Purchase Price Variance (PPV), dry materials usage variance and Bottling Overhead Recovery (BOH), Finished Goods Inventory values and Distribution costs.
• Preparation of Bulk Wine and contract processing sales and cogs entries.
• Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to a detailed reconciliation of Stock on Hand (SOH).
• Monitoring the accuracy of purchased inventory (finished goods and stock in transit) and in conjunction with colleagues in the warehouse coordinating any remedial action impacting on balance sheet balances.
• Preparing monthly reporting on loss and efficiency for the bottling plant and warehouse.

To be successful you will have:

• Tertiary Qualification in Accounting.
• Minimum 2-3yrs commercial or finance experience.

  Strong data accuracy and reconciliation skills.

  Ability to build relationships with and support reporting requirements of Senior Managers.
