Full Time
Terra Sancta
Central Otago,
Otago
Terra Sancta is looking for a Head Viticulturist to join our committed, energetic team. This position is responsible for planning and managing our vineyards to produce the best wine our terroir can possibly produce. Terra Sancta has 33 hectares planted across four vineyards (of which 75% is Pinot Noir), including the Terra Sancta Estate on Felton Road - home to the oldest vineyard in Bannockburn. With our older blocks organically farmed, every wine we produce is consistently linked to a particular part of Terra Sancta - our goal to capture the essence of our diverse terroirs in each bottle, by ensuing our wines are vineyard driven, rather than winery driven. While a young brand, (est. 2012), we are a thriving business with loyal customers.
The role involves the ongoing management of our vineyards; from setting and maintaining budgets, developing and implementing irrigation, harvest planning and ensuring both viticulture best practice and safe work practices are followed.
In terms of style, we are looking for someone with real energy and drive to be a part of a great team. You will be a leader in our business and see your role as critical to building a great brand. A passion for great wine and a curiosity about all facets of the business, including participating in the winery, are also part of the Terra Sancta business model.
Qualifications and Experience:
-Viticulture experience – at least 5-7 years
-Experience in planning labour requirements across the seasons
