Burn Cottage Vineyard is currently seeking a Vineyard Assistant/ Macinery Operator to join our tight knit permanent team on our Cromwell vineyard.
Requirements:
The ideal applicant will have previous practical experience in viticulture or horticulture, with a desire to produce wine grapes of the highest order, and be willing to learn and apply biodynamic viticulture methods. This postion involves Machinery operation; vine and fruit work with our team, and maintenance.
Good communication is required at all levels . A motivated individual with excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work 'hands-on". Must have the ability to work alone and also with other members of the team as required.
The applicant must be competent in tractor and vineyard machinery operation on a variety of terrain, and have the ability to carry out basic machinery maintenance, plus have good record keeping skills. Calibration and spray application experience preferred, with a growsafe certificate an advantage. Ideally would have an understanding of the current Health and Safety Regulations. Must be willing to work flexible hours at times to complete the tasks as required.
A New Zealand resident or hold a current New Zealand work visa.
