Indevin Ltd is New Zealand’s largest wine producer, providing service to a number of premier customers in Marlborough, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne. We process approximately 55,000 tonnes of predominantly white fruit per annum, offering our staff an ideal environment to gain exposure to a variety of winemaking philosophies, techniques and procedures.
The Role
The successful candidate will have industry experience, practical skills and winemaking knowledge. The role reports to the Production Winemaker and involves being a key part of the winemaking team. This includes day to day management of a diverse client portfolio of domestic and export wine, along with supporting the production and winemaking teams, delivering customer specifications in terms of quality, compliance and ensuring that cellar work is completed according to requirements.
This position will involve working extended hours during vintage (typically Feb/April).
The person fulfilling this role will demonstrate the following attributes and skills:
- A degree in Oenology and Viticulture or related field of study
- Two or more harvests in a winemaking role and at least 3 years cellar/lab experience
- A team player with the ability to be part of a team of production professionals and to work to meet common company goals
- Ability to learn new skills, perform multiple tasks and follow instructions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Quality focus with knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience working in large wineries
The successful candidate will be paid commensurate with their skills and experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in NZ.
