We are seeking a passionate and driven full-time Bar Manager/Mixologist to run the bar at our popular Vietnamese eatery!
Banh Mi Caphe is a Vietnamese inspired eatery found in the heart of Hamilton CBD, down River Bank Lane. We are a small owner-operator business, with a close-knit team who are passionate about hospitality and believe in the importance of exceptional food, beverages, and service.
About the role:
In this role you will be responsible for the overall management of our bar and ensuring exceptional customer experiences through high quality beverages, friendly service, and a safe working environment.
Other areas of responsibility will include:
- Developing and maintaining a professional and cooperative relationship between the kitchen staff and junior liquor dispensing staff to ensure the overall business operates smoothly.
- Maintaining a high level of morale and team cooperation amongst all staff members.
- Ensuring all restaurant staff are aware of their obligations pursuant to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Maintaining financial records when necessary.
- Stock ordering and ensuring there is adequate supply of all items needed by the restaurant.
- Ensuring bar equipment is maintained and serviced.
- Participating as a constructive member of the management team, focusing on maximising business sales, volume, and profitability.
- Contributing, preparing, and introducing an ongoing calendar of cost-effective promotional initiative, in consultation with the restaurant manager, chefs and junior front of house staff.
- Managing bar staff in a fair and equitable manner, taking appropriate disciplinary action when required and complying with best practice and establishment regulations.
What we are looking for:
- A positive and engaging management style, where you manage confidently, motivate enthusiastically, lead by example, and understand that you succeed when your team succeeds.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in hospitality, preferably bartending, and/or relevant tertiary qualification
- Current Duty Managers Certificate / or willingness to obtain one
- Strict adherence to all company policies
- Exceptional communication skills
- Positive, punctual, and professional
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work shifts and weekends is non-negotiable
- Willingness to get involved in all areas of the business
- Ability to multitask, problem solve, and act quickly
- Strong digital literacy in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and social media platforms
