Established in 1981 the Giesen brothers are seen as one of the pioneers of the New Zealand wine industry. The Company has built itself into a strong brand both domestically and also on the international stage where they export premium quality wine across the world.
We are seeking a Premium Winemaker for a full-time position in our Blenheim Winery responsible for our hand-crafted winemaking program. Reporting to the Chief Winemaker, the Premium Winemaker will bring to the role a comprehensive understanding of premium grape growing and winemaking principles, be eager to push boundaries and gain knowledge through team effort and bring about best practice to our hand-crafted wine program.
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant degree qualification and be proficient with winery software.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in cool climate, ultra-premium winemaking with particular focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
- Experience in building team culture all aligned in achieving quality outcomes.
- Solid viticulture acumen, particularly around organic principles.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
