Vigneto is a large viticultural and horticultural (Kiwifruit ) management company who due to on going growth in our business are seeking applications for the newly developed role of Assistant Vineyard Manager. We operate our business in the Poverty Bay and Eastern Bay of Plenty with a focus on high quality output of our crops with upper quartile production levels.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for organization/implementation of work and spray programs across our owned and managed Vineyards and also the supervision of our labour contracting in the Gisborne region.
Duties will include, but not limited to;
- Staff training and supervision
- Health and Safety continuous improvement
- Delegation of duties to staff
- Ensuring daily work records and staff records are kept correctly
- Reporting to management
- Liaising with clients
- Manual tasks when required
- Operation and maintenance of vineyard machinery
Key requirements for the role are:
- Good communication skills
- Accurate recordkeeping
- Attention to detail
- Practical vineyard experience or tertiary studies
- Show initiative and be proactive
- Computer literacy
- Current Growsafe and Approved Handler
This role requires a level of Viticulture experience but any relevant qualifications in primary industry would be an advantage.
