Job Description:
Are you passionate about creating unforgettable experiences in a unique vineyard setting? Māori Point is seeking a Head of Guest Experiences to lead and shape our guests' journey. In this role, you will work closely with our Winemaker/Owner and Tasting Room Manager team to craft and execute a vision of excellence that sets us apart in the wine industry. Your tasks will include enhancing guest experiences, event planning and management, conducting private tastings, creating and running a unique wine club, and representing Māori Point at various events. Some travel will be required.

Job Pre-requisites:

• Possession of a Master's degree in tourism, hospitality, business, management, or a relevant field.
• A distinguished career spanning over a decade in the hospitality/tourism industry.
• A rich history of conceptualizing and refining holistic guest experiences, ideally within the unique setting of a vineyard.
• Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing events in the distinctive context of a vineyard, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
• Adept in conducting private tastings, showcasing a high level of skill and finesse in this specialized area.
• Strong knowledge and experience in processing customer orders and familiarity with relevant payment systems.
• A strong dedication to sustainable and regenerative tourism practices.
• A profound and specialized knowledge of the wine industry, particularly focusing on Pinot Noir, coupled with prior experience in cellar door operations in Central Otago.

Key Objectives:

• Guest Experience Enhancement: Your foremost mission is to elevate the Māori Point guest experience, creating indelible moments for our visitors while aligning our offerings with our core values and unique character.
• Direct-to-Consumer Connection: Strengthen and expand our direct-to-consumer connections and sales. Develop a distinctive wine club program that synergizes with our strengths and complements our events, such as concerts, happy hours, and special tastings.
• International Sales Focus: Concentrate on international sales, with a particular emphasis on American visitors. Maintain and nurture relationships over time through newsletters, virtual tastings, and other means.
• Grape Harvest and Winemaking: Embrace the vineyard's heartbeat by participating in grape harvesting and winemaking activities annually. This hands-on experience fosters teamwork and a deeper understanding of our craft.
• Tasting Room Engagement: Be the face of Māori Point during the summer season by spending at least one day per week at our site. Run the tasting room, connect with our offerings, and brainstorm improvements. Transform bus tours of American tourists into unforgettable experiences.
• Wine Club Management: Lead the creation and management of our wine club programs for both the New Zealand and USA markets, with a strong focus on customer relationship management.
• Virtual Tastings: Innovate and execute virtual tasting sessions to engage international visitors and maintain a strong connection with our brand.
• Event Coordination: Plan and execute regular events that align with our wine club and values. Emphasize smaller, high-quality gatherings that reflect our philosophy, including happy hours, concerts, movie nights, and themed wine tastings.
• External Events: Represent Māori Point by pouring our wines at various events, including wine festivals and local gatherings. Prioritize the growth of our homegrown events.
• Vineyard Assistance: Provide valuable support in the vineyard and landscaping when needed, contributing to our holistic approach to winemaking. 

This role will also encompass various sales and marketing responsibilities and KPIs. These may include, but are not limited to:
