We’re looking for a full time Chef who is competent, enthusiastic and passionate, who can bring their creative flair for great food and food and wine experiences to our guests this upcoming season.
Mt Rosa currently offers small plates and platters designed to share and match our wines. We try to use seasonal and local produce and have an onsite garden and glasshouse to utilise. We are looking to expand our offerings in both food and wine experiences which you would lead.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Preparing and cooking high quality dishes
- Creating new menu items to test with team
- Working closely with the team on all levels
- Maintaining health and safety standards
- Maintaining food hygiene practices
- Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
- Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines with compliance
- Supporting the ongoing kitchen responsibilities including accurate and timely record keeping
Ideally, you will need:
- Relevant experience at a winery or similar
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- To be able to work autonomously and deliver quality work
- An enthusiastic and team-oriented mindset
- A high standard of personal presentation with a friendly and genuine attitude
- High energy and a positive, pro-active approach with attention to detail
- To be adaptable and flexible around the working hours when required – the roster will include weekend work, and some evening shifts as required.
- Great attitude and an absolute passion for food is essential!
