Assistant Restaurant Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Ascension is a beautiful vineyard in Matakana just 50 minutes north of Auckland. With our own rustic cellar door and restaurant we are the perfect location for wine tasting lunch and dinner. We also host stunning weddings and stylish corporate events in the Belfry our fully self- contained Function Center.

Looking for an assistant restaurant   manager  that is able to  lead our front of house team to excellence. This is a full time role involving weekend work, with the potential to evolve into  managers  position.
 

Duties and responsibilities:

Providing top notch service to our guests
Leading the wait staff to perform at their best
Training staff on service and wine
Conducting wine tastings and tours
Overseeing wine sales 


Requirements:

Must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar or higher role
Must be able to multi task 
Must have strong knowledge of wine and food 
Experience with functions and large groups as well as a'la carte service preferred
This role requires working weekends and public holidays as well as some late nights

Should  hold a valid Liquor License or have the ability to get one

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa however  for the right candidate  we are  happy to  assist getting  work visa.
