In a city full of bars, good bartenders are rare.
This is a golden opportunity to help run a bar with fine wine, infused bourbons and whisky as well as a healthy cocktail list.
We're seeking experienced bartenders with great people skills who can make the classics blindfolded and be willing to learn new tricks from the masters. You'll also know your wine.
You lead by example, dot every "i" and cross every 't" and make fabulous cocktails.
We expect you to have excellent standards of service, backed up by your work history and references. Talent is our greatest asset, which is why we work hard to attract great staff and keep them happy. You'll enjoy working for us.
Here's what we expect of the successful applicant:
- You have at least three years of bar tending experience, with a track record that shows you're ready to manage junior staff members.
- You're a natural with people, customers and staff alike, with the ability to smoothly mediate any problem areas.
- You're organised and on time, setting an example for the rest of your team.
- You'll know your wine, beer and cocktails, and you'll help keep our rum-based cocktail menu enticingly fresh.
- Ideally you will have your LCQ certificate.
- You will be familiar with Wizbang POS
You will be responsible for:
- Bar staff management. You'll share responsibility for your team of junior bartenders and glassies.
- Stock monitoring and reordering, reporting to and working with the Restaurant Manager.
- Bar staff training.
- Conducting cocktail info and wine-matching sessions with floor staff so they're up to date with the bar's latest offerings.
