This approach continues to bring success and growth. An incredible opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join our team in the newly created role, Head of Champagne and Retail Sales. 

This opportunity will suit a highly driven, experienced professional with comprehensive knowledge of Champagne alongside a demonstrated retail and commercial sales background.  Working closely with the Head of Beverage and Head of Fine & Rare Wines, we continue with our current success in delivering premium offerings to our Webb’s clients as we expand our department and retail space. 

Expectations of the role responsibilities will include management of our retail space and continued development and enhancement of our Champagne portfolio.  This will include hosting of high-end events on site and off site, including tastings, in order to drive sales and awareness to key stakeholders and Webb’s clients.  In addition, this role will require strong marketing acumen, in order to assist with written proposals for potential vendors, cataloguing collections and assisting with print and online publications.  

A professional attitude with the ability to meet deadlines and to prioritise revenue generation will be key.

The role:

• Liaising with vendors/clients regarding arrival of stock for sale and return of goods if unsold
• Managing trade sales both corporate and hospitality stakeholders
• EDM Sales, including marketing campaigns and social media to increase sales and awareness with Webb’s clients
• Oversee and manage the Retail store with a primary focus on revenue generation
• Organise and host regular tasting events series
• Managing and maintaining departmental contracting
• Managing property flow and stock control
• Cataloguing of items (both on and off-site) as required alongside Head of Fine & Rare Wines and Director of Beverage
• Working with the Director of Beverage to co-ordinate all marketing materials
• Assist across Wine Department with auctions/events/tastings
• Assisting our Front of House operations team during busy periods

Skills and experience

• Extensive knowledge and experience within the Champagne industry of at least 3 + years, minimum of at least 2 years in NZ
• Applicable industry tertiary qualification of at least Bachelor Level or minimum Level 3 WSET
• Demonstrated experience within retail and commercial sales
• Leadership experience
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbal and written
• Excellent project management skills together with superior marketing acumen
• Experienced in e-commerce, social media campaign strategies
• Ability to write critically on Champagne
• Exceptional personal presentation
• The ability to multi-task with complete efficiency and productivity
• Reporting and analytical skills
• Financial acumen
