National Key Account Manager & Business Development Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

About Us

We are a successful, independently-owned wine importer and distributor. For 19 years our company has combined passion with innovation to provide highly-reputed international wines to an ever changing market. We have recently re-branded our business and are in the process of launching an important new marketing initiative. We are also embarking on a major expansion to both our portfolio and customer base which has resulted in the creation of this position.

The Role

• This is a new, highly attractive, senior position working alongside the business owner.
• We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, results-focused key accounts sales manager to drive the expansion of our sales base.
• The successful applicant will manage and develop both head-office and store-level relationships across various channels including grocery, traditional liquor, independent and on-line operators.
• This is a stimulating, autonomous role that will manage and grow existing trading relationships, initiate and develop new strategic relationships as well as identify and establish new opportunities.
• This is a full-time permanent position, based in Auckland. This role covers the whole country so a limited amount of out of town travel will be required. You will also need to have certain degree of flexibility in hours to accommodate the needs of customers and events. Weekend or evening hours may be required but this will be the exception rather than the rule.

Responsibilities

• Help develop company sales strategy with the owner through to implementation.
• Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets across your accounts.
• Manage and implement promotional activity across your accounts.
• You will also have direct input to influence new developments of our product portfolio expansion

Skill Requirements

• Proven sales account or territory management experience in the wine industry with a strong track record and demonstrable understanding of the FMCG channel.
• A skilled relationship-builder who is well presented, has an outgoing personality, strong communication skills and the ability to hit the ground running.
• A determined, solutions-orientated, self-starter with a high level of positive energy, integrity and initiative who is able to work autonomously and respond positively to constructive feed-back.
• The competency and time management skills to prioritise, plan and organise your workload to meet demands and deadlines is absolutely necessary
• You are primarily motivated by sales and relationships but as you will be the face and personality of our brands, you must have an interest in wine and a willingness to learn about our diverse product range.
• Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (word and excel) and a valid NZ driver’s license are essential.
