Miro Vineyard is a small yet perfectly formed vineyard on Waiheke Island, planted 25 years ago, with a focus on high quality varietal wines. 

Job Description

• Working in collaboration with the Employers to produce top quality wines on an annual and ongoing basis
• Fruit sorting and fruit processing 
• Racking and pumping over of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment
• Daily documentation of winemaking processes
• Following SOP’s for winery operations
• Cleaning and sanitising all winery equipment
• Filling and emptying barrels
• Making additions to juice and wine
• Organising ordering of essential winery supplies in a timely manner
• Assisting with bottling runs
• Completing and filling out work orders accurately
• Vineyard tasks such as pruning, shoot thinning, shoot positioning and canopy construction
• Trellis maintenance 
• A wide range of tractor work including mowing, trimming, weed spraying and crop spraying as well as any associated chemical handling
• Cleaning and preparation of equipment, machinery and tractors
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of food and wine service at all times 
• Supervise and train junior floor staff
• Maximise wine and food sales
• Ensure restaurant set up and presentation is of a consistently high standard
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of current menu items and wines on the list
• Set a good example for junior floor staff at all times
• Assist Restaurant and Duty Managers in setting new standards and implementing new ideas
