Terra Sancta is a grape farming and wine production business nestled in the premium Central Otago subregion of Bannockburn. Our farming system is focused on regenerative agriculture and we are committed to the health of our soils, our place and the production of high-quality wines.
The Position:
Terra Sancta is currently seeking a vineyard supervisor to lead and assist our seasonal vineyard team in all aspects of high quality fruit production. This is a full time, permanent role that will report to Terra Sancta’s assistant vineyard manager. This role would be perfectly suited to a university graduate or someone with 2+ years of practical vineyard experience.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Training and leading a small seasonal crew.
- Executing the seasonal canopy management plan.
- Executing pruning with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Pest and disease monitoring.
- Assisting with vineyard tasks such as wiring, young vine training, trellis maintenance, livestock care, etc.
Skills and experience:
- Great communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physically fit to complete and champion any vineyard task.
- A love of working outdoors alongside plants and animals.
- A superb eye for detail.
- Someone who takes pride in achieving the best results, and producing the highest quality grapes and wine.
- A good understanding of vineyard processes and seasonality.
Requirements:
- Full New Zealand drivers license with own transport.
- 2+ years of viticultural experience theoretical/practical or both.
- The ability to work permanently in New Zealand.
