Summer season is coming ! 

The Cloudy Bay Vineyards teams are looking forward to entering another exciting summer season, where we will grow and harvest the grapes that will be used for this coming year’s vintage. As we have a number of positions to fill as Vineyard Operator and Cellar Hand, we are looking to put together a team made up of enthusiastic and outdoors-loving staff. We offer an engaging season with a comprehensive induction and applied technical training in a modern winemaking environment.

As a member of our 2021 Vintage team, you will be given the opportunity to rotate between our Vineyard and Winery departments. This dual function role will make you gain comprehensive world-standard experience and widen both your vineyard and cellar skills.

• As a Vineyard Operator

- You  will drive our vineyard tractors with a variety of implements ranging from: mowers, trimmers and vine sprayers;

- From Mid October 2020 until the end of February 2021.

• As a Cellar Hand

- You will use your outstanding work ethic to perform diverse responsibilities across grape receival, processing and pressing; 

- Racking and tank transfers; 

- Filtration; 

- Red and white fermentation management; 

- Barrel management;

- From late February 2021 and for approximatively 3 months until the end of May 2021.

 

 We are interested in hearing from candidates with: 

• Previous vintage season experience as a Cellar Hand and/or Vineyard Operator (1-3 past vintages), with a sound knowledge of all Vineyard Operations and Equipment. 

• Ability to work in New Zealand or obtain the right to lawfully work in New Zealand 

• Solid English language skills

• Previous forklift, confined space and health & safety training is desirable 

• Be safety conscious and show attention to detail 

• Refined & efficient work style and enthusiastic attitude 

• Resilience and a good sense of humor

 

The roles are to be filled from Mid-October 2020 until the end of May 2021 approximatively.
