Our business is diverse, from farming and harvesting, to processing and the marketing of seafood, wine, cider, apples, pears, kiwifruit, hops and natural fruit bars. Wakatu, our parent company, and Kono are striving for operational excellence across all divisions, group functional areas and processes by deploying lean thinking philosophies, principles, and tools.
We are looking for Deck hands to join our team located in the Golden Bay and Havelock region. Reporting directly to the Skipper, you will be involved in tasks such as harvesting product, re-seeding and spat catching. The crew work all year through averaging 3 nights a week on board the vessel.
The role
Involves assisting and carrying out duties onboard the vessels while adhering to health and safety standards and regulations to promote a safe work environment.
The person
If you are experienced in the aquaculture industry or are interested in a career change we would love to hear from you. This is challenging role and will require someone who can hit the ground running. A skippers ticket would be an advantage but is not necessary.
