Restaurant manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The WineKitchen is a small quality over quantity restaurant located in Marlborough. The owner, who is also the chef, is inspired by the Asian-Franco cuisine. We work with a small menu, and base this off seasonal and local fresh food. Moreover, we have an extensive wine list with some of the top New Zealand wineries and a wide selection of international wines.

We are now seeking applicants for a front of house manager. The role consists of:

• Managing and training staff
• Controlling stock 
• Setting up menus in consultation with the chef
• Arranging the wine list
• Setting up the till
• Customer relations with the guests
• Setting up the restaurant accordingly to reservations 
• Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for customers and staff
• Organize functions and events

You will need:

• Understanding of HACCP
• A good knowledge of New Zealand and international wines, in which WSET 1 & 2 is essential -  WSET 3 is a pro
• Good understanding of the classic cuisine
• Sufficient English language skills – preferably speak multiple languages due to tourism flow
• A representative attitude 
• Be able to work evenings and weekend days with split shifts
• Ideally experience in similar roles in the Wine and Food field
• Multiskilled and able to handle situations under pressure
