As the owner of Tohu winery, Tutu Cider and Hop Federation Beer, we are looking for a sales professional to join our team to strengthen the international sales effort and accelerate and execute our international growth strategy. This exciting new position will initially focus on Australia and Asia and contribute to future growth.
The Role
The main purpose of the role is to grow the profitable sales of the Kono beverage brands in assigned international markets, working through all channels available in the market and developing long term relationships, while ensuring excellent customer experiences. The role will enhance the Kono brands reputation in international markets. In the Beverage Sales - Export position, you will conduct planning for profitable growth and work with internal departments to help deliver commercial success.
Reporting to the Export Sales Manager, key responsibilities of the role include:
- Going deep into a selection of existing international markets, primarily Australia, to deliver support to our customers and drive sales growth across our total offering.
- Prospect, target and convert new opportunities in the market within all levels of the supply chain.
- Proactively manage the relationship between supply, purchasing and marketing for Kono products within our chosen distribution channels
- Commercial acumen and a head for numbers, with the confidence, ambition, drive and capability to build business
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative. Ideally, you will have:
- 3 years + previous export sales and business development experience in overseas markets for the wine (or beer) sector
- A tertiary qualification in marketing and/or sales, or related qualification in business
- Strong understanding of all elements of key markets for New Zealand wine and beer.
- Excellent wine and beer knowledge
- Commercially aware and results-focused.
- Ability to work across business units to deliver results, meet, and exceed targets
- The ability to develop exciting ways of winning business, promote brands and engage customers and consumers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to create long-lasting customer relationships and advocates for our wine and beer
- The hunger to travel internationally, really get into the fabric of the market and its networks, and ensure under your management, we are working to a strategy
This role is ideally based at the Tohu winery in beautiful Marlborough, but the location could be flexible and based outside of the Marlborough region for the ideal candidate. You will receive be ongoing support and direction, but the candidate must be able to self-manage and work autonomously. Please note will be extensive travel with this role.
