About the Role

This a unique opportunity to try out a career in viticulture and winemaking, find out if it’s for you and earn while you learn some valuable skills. Our award winning programme - the only one of its kind in New Zealand - will have you experiencing life in winemaking and give you the building blocks to a rewarding and varied career. Over the 12-month programme you’ll experience 6 months in the vineyards (we’re talking hands on, roll-your-sleeves-up work out in mother nature, often working with machinery) and 6 months in the winery (in the cellar where the actual wine itself is crushed and produced into the finished product.

Currently we have a limited number of positions available in Marlborough for motivated candidates to earn while they learn, with a start date of mid-January 2022.
Key Responsibilities
· Learning how to operate vineyard and winery machinery safely
· Vineyard duties from mowing and leaf plucking to spraying the vines
· Cellar duties from barrel work to wine transfers
· Harvest operations including crushing and pressing
· Contribute to a safety culture by following all safety procedures, ensuring proper PPE, incident reporting
About You
· Team player with a can-do attitude
· Willingness to learn and try something new
· Mechanical and numerical abilities
· Current full driver’s license (we’ll teach you how to drive the tractor!)
