Spy Valley is a family-owned winery that has been inspiring the world of wines since 2000. We love wine and are currently looking for like-minded people to help share our secrets!

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Chief Winemaker to lead our talented winemaking team. This is an exciting senior leadership role that offers the opportunity to apply your winemaking skills alongside your people management and winery operations capabilities.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Winemaker will oversee the winemaking process ensuring high quality wines are produced whilst maximising plant and resources and assisting in key decisions with respect to wine strategy, viticulture, fruit maturity and harvesting.

This role also utilises your exceptional client relationship skills and ability to ensure operational excellence and service delivery in a growing and ever-changing winery environment.

You’ll need to have:

• Experience working in a senior management capacity;
• A degree in viticulture and/or wine science;
• 5+ years experience as a senior winemaker, with a variety of wines;
• Proven technical and creative skills to produce quality wines;
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic ability;
• Excellent networking and relationship building skills.

This role requires you to have occasional flexibility to travel nationally and internationally to service our markets, customers and trade partners including participation in wine industry events and networking activities.
