Events and Cellar Door Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Forrest Wines is a family owned and operated winery in the beautiful Marlborough region. We are looking for someone to manage our cellar door and build a successful portfolio of events to really utilise our amazing grounds. 

We are a small tight knit team and work in an ever changing and dynamic environment. You will never be bored in this role! An average day can consist of anything from chatting our visitors through our wines and our story, scheduling in musicians for our local Sunday Sessions, managing our onsite accommodation through to liaising with local vendors and clients around larger planned events. 

The nitty gritty – skills you would need to posses 

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills 
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently 
• Project/event management skills and experience 
• Ability to establish strong relationship with customers, the community, and all other stakeholders 
• The confidence and experience to manage and over-see events unsupervised 
• Excellent skills at setting, tracking and ensuring event budgets are adhered to 
• The ability to come up with fresh and innovative ideas to create memorable events
• People management experience
• Excel and enjoy working to tight deadlines an under pressure 
• The ability to travel out of town, and work flexible hours including weekends and night where needed
