Hans Herzog Estate is one of New Zealand’s most treasured, truly artisan wineries and we’re looking for a young wine aficionado and hospitality superstar to join our team! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, seasonal Sommelier/Chef de Rang.
We are looking for like-minded people with a passion for hospitality and organic, hand-crafted wines to assist in our Bistro, Gourmet Restaurant and Cellar Door. You’ll have excellent sales skills and previous experience in wine and hospitality. In order to be successful in this position you'll possess:
- An outgoing “can-do” attitude with a big smile on your face!
- Friendly, charming personality
- Prior experience in Michelin Star Restaurant or fine dining establishment
- Strong interest and passion for all things wine
- Excellent communication skills
- Sales orientated attitude with strong upselling skills
- A degree of flexibility – this role requires weekends and evenings
- Reliable, punctual and highly organised
- English essential, additional language is a plus
- WSET qualification preferred but not required
- Valid working visa
