To support this objective, we’ve now commenced a strategic search process to appoint a high-caliber Technical Sales Manager for the New Zealand market as the organisation embarks on the next phase of their Oceania growth.
Job Description
Reporting to the Commercial Director; Oenology – Oceania, the role will be a key member of the Technical and Sales Team, charged with strategically developing, leading and implementing the Fermented Beverage strategy across the New Zealand market, via direct contact across the wine channel, building brand awareness, leading sales initiatives, providing technical support and working with distributors to grow and exceed sales budgets. As a key leader for the Lallemand organization in New Zealand, the successful candidate will have responsibility for providing marketing and promotional leadership of the Fermented Beverage portfolio and will have full responsibility for all Oenology related activities throughout New Zealand. This is a hands-on Technical Sales leadership role that will require the new incumbent to manage both internal and external stakeholders. With complete budget accountability, you will lead initiatives that translate strategy into operational effectiveness that sustainably deliver on growth objectives. Specifically your responsibilities will include:
• Lead sales & technical support of wine sector client base
• Implement accurate, timely & efficient service delivery outcomes
• Build credibility, rapport & generate sales outcomes within the wine channel
• Coordinate & manage commercial product trials
• Develop client process improvement plans
• Champion customer service strategy aligned to quality outcomes
• Contribute positively to the team in pursuit of organisational best practice
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Technical Sales Management gained from within a service orientated, accountable and high-performance environment. With a recognized degree-level qualification in Oenology or Food Science discipline, it would be advantageous for the successful candidate to have practical fermented beverage experience and/ or sales experience in the wine sector. You will need to have demonstrated experience and ability to plan, develop and implement continual improvement initiatives at client level that deliver optimal performance outcomes. In addition, you'll need a strong customer service orientation, sharp commercial acumen, heightened negotiation skills and a passion for teamwork. Significant domestic travel throughout New Zealand will be required as well as some international travel.
