Teece Family Vineyards is a distinctive 81-hectare vineyard property in Spotswood, nine kilometres north of the pastoral farming town of Cheviot in North Canterbury, New Zealand.
We grow ultra-premium grapes for our internationally-distributed Mt. Beautiful wine brand, in addition to fruit contracts for other nearby wineries. The vineyard is also home to a recently constructed 600 tonne state-of-the-art winery facility that specializes in small lot fermentations for Pinot Noir and gentle, hands-on production for our white wine program, which includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling varieties.
Job Purpose
In conjunction with the management team, the Vineyard Manager will manage daily operations as well as fully participate in the future strategic growth and direction of the vineyard.
We are looking for a Manager who is passionate and committed to viticulture and wine, preferably with a minimum of 5 years vineyard experience as a Manager and preferably with formal qualifications in either viticulture or horticulture.
You will need to be self-driven, a leader, results-orientated and display excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Also, desirable but not essential is:
- Experience with SWNZ requirements and grape link spray diary
- Familiar with Microsoft suites
- Experience with frost protection systems
- Managing a team of permanent workers along with an RSE team
- Experience in developing new vineyard sites, would be an advantage.
