Established in 1996, Akarua now owns 130 Ha's of vineyards split between the Bannockburn and Pisa sub-regions of Central Otago. Predominantly planted in Pinot Noir, Akarua continues to build on its reputation as a producer of world class Pinot Noir and Methode Traditionelle.
Working alongside and reporting to the Vineyard Manager, the Assistant Vineyard Manager will provide support with day-to-day management across our six individual vineyard sites.
You will be supported by a team of permanent, fixed-term and casual staff and you will be encouraged to share your knowledge with all staff to further their, and your own, experience.
Ideally, you will be able to show a commitment of learning and development within the industry built on a mix of practical experience and education.
You should bring with you:
- a comprehensive understanding of vineyard operations
- mechanical aptitude
- supervisory skills
- be computer literate with an understanding of industry software
- an interest in new technology and innovation
- appropriate certifications such as GrowSafe and First Aid
Key to this position you will be an individual who can demonstrate:

- a willingness to work within and lead a team
- a strong drive to help us to continue to build our focus on Health and Safety in the workplace
