Te Kano is an emerging wine brand from Central Otago - about to launch its architecturally-designed Cellar Door in late January 2020. Situated in Bannockburn and overlooking the Kawarau River, this new venture is one not to be missed.
100% family-owned and operated, we are a dynamic wine business on the start of our journey and are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join the Te Kano team to manage and grow our Cellar Door and DTC program.
The Te Kano Cellar Door Manager will be responsible for delivering an outstanding customer service experience for all visitors – building brand awareness and exceeding guest’s expectations.
The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the Cellar Door and staff
- Overseeing food preparation and presentation
- Oversight of the Health and Safety of visitors and staff
- Implementation of the Te Kano Wine Club and management of the database
- Management and growth of Cellar Door sales
- Overall customer experience
- EDM creation and implementation in conjunction with social media
- Planning and management of cellar door functions and events
- Assistance with other sales and marketing as required
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- Relevant experience in hospitality - ideally Cellar Door management or restaurant/hotel experience
- Effective time management
- Sound wine knowledge, combined with local and regional knowledge
- Effective team management
- Excellent understanding around food preparation and presentation
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Must hold a Manager’s licence and New Zealand driver licence
- Must be a NZ resident or hold a current NZ work visa
The role is mainly Cellar Door based, but may require travel for events from time to time.
Flexibility around work hours is required as the role will involve weekend and public holiday work.
