Vineyard and Cellar Intern
(Wine Jobs:
Vineyards & Cellars )
Contract
Prophets Rock Wines Ltd
Central Otago,
Otago
Prophet’s Rock is a small, estate-based winery located in Central Otago producing Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Vin de Paille. At Prophet’s Rock our approach to winemaking includes indigenous ‘wild’ fermentations, low extraction and extended élevage. We believe our wines should represent the vineyards they’re produced from, with a focus on quality and vineyard practices being paramount.
We are looking for people with the relevant experience and a passion for making great wine, to join our small team for the 2025/2026 growing season, leading into, and including the 2026 vintage. The role is varied and the ability to be flexible is important. During vintage, staff will get a well-rounded experience with sometime in the vineyard, lab and cellar. Vineyard and winery work can be physically demanding so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
Preferably, candidates will be able to start between September and early-November and work through the growing season in the vineyard, then move through to the winery at harvest. The role would typically finish in mid-May 2026. You will also have the opportunity at vintage to work alongside François Millet, former 35 vintage winemaker at Comte George de Vogüé in Chambolle-Musigny, who collaborates with us on the Cuvée Aux Antipodes project. This is a great opportunity to follow the fruit all the way from the vine to the winery and spend a season in beautiful Central Otago.
Candidates should possess a focus on quality and attention to detail. Laboratory experience would be an advantage.
Please only apply if you are eligible to work in New Zealand or are obtaining a valid work visa through until May 2026.
