We are seeking a Vineyard Tractor Operator to join our small, family team.  

This is your opportunity to work directly with the owner-operator of a small wine company that is willing to share 20 years of industry experience with the successful applicant.

Based in the mid Wairau Valley, using modern equipment, you will need to undertake vineyard operations across both organic and non-organic vineyards.

Our vineyards are family-owned, organic and/or sustainable vineyards. We grow and make our wines using methods developed inhouse, finely tuned from over 60 years of combined winemaking knowledge.

The successful applicant will:

  • Require a Full NZ Drivers Licence
  • Enjoy working outdoors and be physically fit to perform the duties
  • Be motivated to learn new skills
  • Possess a good eye for detail and naturally take pride in their work
  • Have a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Be able to work flexible hours
  • Show initiative and be able to solve problems
  • Experience in tractor operations would be an advantage
  • An ability to direct seasonal vineyard labour during planting, training, weeding, pruning, wire lifting and hand picking would be an advantage
  • Experience in vineyard maintenance, vine training and irrigation would be an advantage
  • Possess an ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time by being self-motivated to work hard and deliver excellent quality outcomes in the vineyard
  • A Growsafe certificate is advantageous, but comprehensive training will be provided
