Set against the backdrop of the majestic Pisa mountain range, Amisfield is one of the largest single vineyard estates in Central Otago. We are well on the way toward achieving organic certification and have implemented a host of advanced initiatives in organic and biodynamic wine production. Our modern winery is located in the heart of our vineyard estate and produces pinot noir and aromatic white wines that strive to have a sense of place, purity, intensity and vibrancy.

We have an incredible opportunity available for an experienced, motivated and innovative Winemaker to lead this key area of our business. Based at our winery, the Winemaker will report to our CEO, and manage an experienced and talented winemaking team.

About the Role:

• Responsible for all aspects of the winemaking process
• Work in collaboration with our Vineyard Management team to ensure the growing and harvest of optimal quality fruit
• Work closely with the CEO and our Sales & Marketing teams to support the commercial viability and promotion of our wines and development of our brand
• Build and engage with a network in the local and broader national and international wine communities
• Present and promote our wines at industry, distributor and trade events

About You:

• Tertiary qualification in Oenology
• Minimum of 10 years relevant wine making experience producing premium Pinot Noir and aromatic whites
• Commercially savvy
• Experienced with organics and biodynamics
• Energetic, self-motivated, quality-focused and driven
• Well presented, personable and engaging
• Team player with an ability to lead the building of a positive workplace culture
• High level of computer literacy and systems knowledge and capability
