Restaurant & Bar Duty Manager – Brand new Restaurant & Bar being built right now, located at the Carnmore Hotel, Christchurch

We wish to appoint a Restaurant & Bar Manager Duty Manager. 

This is a new food and beverage operation opening early 2023. 

We are also looking for Bar and Wait staff. We have full time and part time positions available. Do not hesitate and apply now. 

It is in effect, a stand-alone restaurant within an hotel as opposed to a traditional hotel restaurant.

Working closely with the Restaurant and Bar Manager and the Hotel General Manager, the ideal candidate will have had or have had recent experience in very busy, highly rated modern style restaurant who perhaps, needs to take the next step in their career development. They are ready to prove what they can achieve.

Their key attributes will be to be a hands-on operator, be reliable, comfortable in accepting responsibility and in making decisions, have a strong work ethic and relish this opportunity. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the outlet operations and guidelines are adhered to as required by the company and the required standards
• Provide information and advise customers on the menu and keep abreast with all the latest products and services that will be offered
• Oversee system transactions and control the voiding system, opening & cash out procedure, system reconciliation, and daily banking procedure
• Handle customer queries /complaints to ensure customer satisfaction 
• Prepare monthly sales reports and weekly profit & loss statements, and provide relevant feedback and suggestions to the Manager to maximize operational efficiency
• Maintain optimum stock levels to ensure smooth running of operations to cater to customer demands
• Maintain hygiene standards and monitor regular quality checks for the outlet
• Participate in recruiting staff for the outlet to ensure the right caliber of staff is selected to meet company objective
• Guide, train, develop and motivate subordinates to achieve their objectives and work to their best potential to perform effectively on the job
