Winter 2023 is receding as we move toward a new Spring / Summer season with well awaited hot sunny days. With many Hygge events created for summer, and after being nominated for the upcoming New Zealand Wedding Industry Awards, on top of a full Spring & Summer Wedding and Function calendar, there is much to look forward to at Hygge.

The Summer 2024 season is well booked with more to come. We are on the hunt for someone with energy, initiative and desire, strong leadership, decision making, reporting and technical ability to develop our Front of House Management Team, to lead and motivate, coach, and support them, and all other staff, to provide the caring level of service we expect here at Hygge at Clifton Bay 

This position has become available with our current FOH Manager moving on to bigger things.

This is a larger position than previous. The bar has been raised and we require a high-end talent to lead us to the next level. Where that is, is unknown. The bar just keeps going up.

Hygge at Clifton Bay is one of Hawkes Bays largest cafes nestled out at the “end of the road” at a seaside location that is unparalleled in Hawkes Bay. We are a growing and changing business that offers daytime dining, and now we are developing the events aspect of the business by building a brand as a venue for a variety of functions and events large and small from birthday parties to weddings or large-scale business conferences. Hygge is about bringing everything that matters together to feel all that is good. A place that wraps you in cosiness, comfort and warmth and can turn your darkest of days into the brightest! We are looking for a Hospitality Shinning Light to join our fantastic and diverse team. Someone with energy, loves people and cares about:  food – environment – community – business and leading and inspiring others. 

We are always looking for good people who love to live. And behind the scenes we want everyone to enjoy each other at work while being supported and encouraged in their growth.

 

As this is a role where you work very hands on in the business, experienced hospitality skill is highly desired although we are also looking for new people who are prepared to learn and grow, keen to develop and work alongside the management team to build systems, processes and be inspired to bring new innovations which help us build the next stage for Hygge. The Kitchen Staff and FOH are inter-linked and practice a very high degree of co-operation. It’s a very exciting time to join us!

Hygge practices Open Book Management. All Senior Staff are involved in strategic planning, financial planning, forecasting and reporting. An incentive scheme that recognises key financial drivers is in place with substantial remuneration. 

Training is ongoing and encouraged. You don’t have to be perfect (yet J)
