As Field Operations Manager in our grapevine source block and field nursery, this role lives and breathes the Riversun ethos of leading edge science and technology working hand-in-hand with world class plantmanship. Putting this into practice, you will be in charge of the day-to-day field operations to meet production targets, maintain land and plant health, oversee plant/machinery and ensure the end result of excellent plants for our customers.
Working closely with the Group Viticulturist, you will be involved in all aspects of planning and implementation - from labour strategies, field preparation, planting, cultivation, irrigation, pesticide application, plant management, harvesting and environment restoration, to sustainability and Carbon Zero reduction.
To be successful you will have a Bachelor of Science in Viticulture or Horticulture or equivalent experience in a farming environment. You will be a natural leader who isn’t afraid to make the hard calls; communicates effectively and gets a kick out of empowering teams to be the best they can be.
You’ll transition easily between the source block, field nursery and the office; be very organised and a stickler when it comes to the details.
