We are a small, family-owned and operated wine estate. Established in 1984, we have three dry farmed vineyards totalling 22 hectares situated in Gisborne, New Zealand. We specialise in growing certified organic and biodynamic estate bottled wines. We adhere to traditional grapegrowing and winemaking practices.
We require a Viticulturist to join us in our vineyard activities.
The applicant will report to the estate owners. It is an active role. This includes all vineyard work including green season, vine spraying, mechanical weed control, compost and compost tea making, winter pruning according to the Guyot Poussard method, and administration. Workforce budgeting and overseeing hand culture is included in the role. Our biodynamic farming requires the making of the preparations and tisanes, and knowledge of these activities is strongly suggested.
All the vineyards are certified organic with Bio-Gro and Biodynamic with Demeter, and a strong adherence to these audit processes are an absolute.
The successful applicant will have a tertiary education in viticulture and will have completed several vintages both offshore and/or in New Zealand at an estate with similar values.
They must be New Zealand residents and have the required employment criteria.
