Sage is on the lookout for a General Manager.
We are a newly established restaurant in Hamilton's new dining area, Hamilton East. With a dining concept focused around sharing, drawing on nostalgic flavours that have been shown consideration. We aim to give Hamilton the best quality food and service in an approachable package for all.
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for hospitality and a proven track record in restaurant management and all other aspects in the hospitality industry.
Availability to work across all of our opening hours.
Tuesday– Saturday. Sundays and Mondays off.
Minimum 35 hours offered a week.
Remuneration discussed with individual based on experience.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
● Manage all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, and customer service.
● Ensure high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety are maintained at all times.
● Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maximise efficiency and profitability.
● Monitor and control costs and expenses, including food, beverage, and labour costs.
● Create seasonal menu changes keeping up to date with trends and techniques
● Create and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to drive sales and increase revenue.
● Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and the local community.
● Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff.
● Oversee inventory management and ordering to ensure adequate supply levels and minimise waste.
● Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
● Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
To be successful you will need:
● To currently live in New Zealand.
● A full New Zealand Drivers licence.
● Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager.
● Proven experience in managing venues in NZ.
● 5yrs plus in a hospitality managerial role.
● Hold LCQ & Managers certificate within New Zealand.
● Excellent leadership and communication skills.
● Extensive product knowledge of NZ & international Craft beers.
● Extensive product knowledge of NZ & international wines.
● Ability to seasonally curate wine, spirit & cocktail menus.
● 5yrs plus experience as a cocktail bartender and restaurant server preferred.
● Knowledge of classic & modern cocktails recipes and techniques.
● A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
