Te Mata Estate is New Zealand’s original fine wine estate, with every step of winemaking undertaken on site and grown within Hawke’s Bay, one of the world’s great wine regions. Globally recognised for Coleraine, Te Mata produces a wide range of sought-after premium wines.

 We are looking for a full or part time Cellar Door Host – a unique opportunity for the wine enthusiast in you – to delight and serve our customers. The Host is the first point of contact for all visitors and plays an important role in creating a memorable experience for each guest. 

The focus of the role is hosting tastings and conducting tours at the Estate, and also includes order processing, events, and marketing administration. Each day is different, and you will be a key part of the team, building customer relationships, making sales and ensuring wine is dispatched with care and efficiency.

You will be an astute sales professional, great with people, able to work well under pressure, but most importantly, passionate about wine. You may have a background in hospitality, retail, or sales, have a proven high level of numeracy and literacy, and be physically fit.  Experience using a CRM and POS system, a WSET qualification and/or a Duty Managers certificate would all be beneficial.

Be able to work in NZ

Have own transport

Be available to work weekends and public holidays

Be able to regularly lift and move cases of wine

Be fluent in written and spoken English
