This is a fantastic fine-wine, hospitality opportunity with life-friendly hours. Looking for a wine lover to join our team as a Duty Manager at our cosy and upmarket Smith & Sheth Wine Lounge and Cellar Door in the heart of Havelock North! As Duty Manager you’ll be responsible for ensuring our guests have a memorable experience enjoying fine wines from our three family brands, Smith & Sheth, Pyramid Valley and Lowburn Ferry, amongst a wider selection of specially curated wines from around the world.
The successful applicant will be:
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about wine, with a desire to keep learning
- Have at least 3 years’ of hospitality experience, ideally some of this in a wine-focused environment
- Available to work daytimes, weekends or evenings – Wednesdays to Sundays (but never too late!)
- A team player who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills and would love to be part of an exciting and knowledgeable team
As Duty Manager you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the running the Wine Lounge, this will include managing a small team whilst on duty and you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for our guests, while acting as a wine tasting ambassador, focusing on hosting and delivery of an exceptional guest experience.
