Are you an experienced cellar professional? We’re looking for a Cellar Manager to lead our cellar team and play a key role in producing our high-quality award-winning Marlborough wines and contract winemaking facility. This is an exciting opportunity to work in New Zealand’s premier wine region, managing day-to-day cellar operations, a team of experienced staff and supporting an established winemaking team.

About the Role
As our Cellar Manager, you will oversee all cellar operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will lead and train a team of permanent and seasonal staff, coordinate vintage activities, and maintain excellent organisation and hygiene across the cellar. Working closely with our Winemaker and Operations team, you will help deliver production targets while upholding compliance and quality standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Managing daily cellar operations, from fruit receival through to dispatch.
- Leading, training, and supporting a team of cellar staff.
- Ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining up to date SOPs and compliance records.
- Coordinating vintage workflow, staffing, and equipment needs.
- Identify maintenance requirements of winery equipment, liaising with our site engineers and contractors when needed.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and production records.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2-3 years’ winery experience, including time in a senior or supervisory cellar role.
- Strong understanding of wine production and NZ industry standards.
- Confident leadership skills and the ability to develop and motivate a team.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Physically fit with the ability to perform hands-on cellar work when required.
- Willingness to work longer hours during vintage.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Confined Spaces and Gas Detection Certification.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a safety mindset, a strong work ethic, motivated and show initiative.
