bStudio Ltd is a service provider to the craft beer industry, based in beautiful Napier, Hawkes Bay. Our mission is to deliver the highest-quality service and products through employing the best technology, process efficiencies and people.

The facility is fully managed under a HACCP-based food safety program which follows strict production policies and procedures to ensure our company values of exceptional service and quality product are met to exceed our client’s expectations.

We are currently seeking applications for a hands-on and experienced role, as part of our brewing and cellar team.

You will have sufficient experience (minimum of three years), or a relevant qualification (usually a degree or formal brewing qualification), with sufficient practical experience, to be able to operate as a senior member of our brewing team. 

Key Functions:

You will be expected to be proficient in all aspects of brewery operations, and to perform these tasks accurately and efficiently:

  • Upholding strict hygiene standards.
  • Understanding and prioritizing beer quality.
  • Ensuring customer specifications are met.
  • Accurately completing all production documentation.
  • Understanding the importance of quality systems and controls.
  • Operating computerised machinery.
  • Sterilisation and maintenance of brewing equipment. 
  • Monitoring temperature, acidity, fermentation and beer colour throughout the brewing process.
  • Helping to develop and train less experienced brewing team members.
  • Working and developing Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Attributes & Qualities:

The brewery has a small operational team. Therefore, we work varying split shifts to make sure that our work gets done on schedule, and that we always do what is best for the beer.

We require someone who can deliver the following attributes and qualities:

  • At least three years of brewing experience or a relevant brewing qualification with sufficient practical experience for this position.
  • Knowledge of brewing computer applications.
  • Great attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Proven and strong work ethic.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Truly flexible when confronted with change.
  • Can communicate effectively and accurately, both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to multi-task, as team members need to manage several tasks at once.
  • Can work occasional rostered weekends and outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually, when required.
