About the role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Experienced Cellar Hand to join our small, hands-on winery team.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday. During vintage, the role transitions to a six-day, 12-hour shift roster.
You will gain exposure across all cellar operations, from grape receival through to tank and barrel storage, while working alongside an experienced winemaking team.
Key responsibilities:
- Follow and promote safe work practices, contributing to continuous improvement in cellar operations
- Complete cellar operations to maintain wine quality and product integrity
- Perform tasks across receival, processing, transfers, cleaning and wine preparation for tank and barrel storage
- Operate winery equipment safely and efficiently
- Accurately complete production records and documentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all cellar areas
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum two years winery/cellar experience, including vintage work
- Experience with wine receival and despatch, transfers, additions, cleaning, and vintage processing
- Forklift licence advantageous
- Strong attention to detail
- A proactive, practical approach to problem solving
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- A high level of physical fitness suited to manual and repetitive tasks
- Flexibility to work extended and irregular hours, including nights and weekends during vintage
