We are looking for Orchard Supervisor for our well-settled Business in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay Region. A person who is self-motivated, who can go a few extra miles for the growth of the business.
Key responsibilities :
This position requires an Orchard Supervisor with up to 2 years of relevant experience in an orchard industry.

• To communicate with the manager on a daily basis, providing assistance where necessary and monitoring the business performance
• Oversee operational activities to achieve primary business objectives
• Gain a thorough understanding of customer business and strategic plans as they relate to the company’s products and services
• Keep up to date with new practices, techniques and products
• Where directed by the manager, pick up on leads and meet new potential clients and promote the company
• Help implement any work programmes within the company’s service standards and required time frames
• Assist with recruiting process, supervision, management, and general monitoring of staff to ensure quality and work standards are met within the budget and company guidelines
• Help maintain a safe working environment and practices to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety policies
• Maintain orchard assets and products to agreed and appropriate levels
• Assist if requested with developing market strategies and portfolio management
• Help generate new business leads
• Prepare sales quotations and proposals and be engaged where requested in project management duties
• Assist with maintaining stock levels and inventory as well as recording and maintaining stocktake data
• Help ensure that production targets are achieved
• Monitor health and vigour of vines
• Undertake ongoing learning and practical experience in all aspects of fruit production

 Additional Information:

• The position will require weekend work
• Public holidays and some split shifts
