Links Winery is a family-owned and operated wine business based in Hawkes Bay.
As we expand our vineyard operations, we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to step up and join our small team as an operator to assist the Vineyard Manager.
We currently have two positions on offer one based with the Manager at our Matheson and Kereru Road vineyards and the second with the Manager at the winery vineyard on Links Road and our new development at Pukehamoamoa.
To be successful in this role you would need a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and work alongside the manager in what is a two-man operation. A strong practical ability is essential.
There is a large degree of autonomy in this role, so you would need to be self-motivating and have the ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines and get the job done.
You would need flexibility and a willingness to work the long and unusual hours required during busy parts of the season to make a good contribution to a successful vineyard operation.
As this is a hands-on role it will suit someone with prior experience:
- operating and caring for vineyard machinery
- instructing and supervising contract labour would be an advantage
- knowledge and experience in grape growing
- experience in sprayer set-up, operation, appropriate use and handling of vineyard chemicals
- experience operating all vineyard equipment
- Grow Safe Certificate
This position will report directly to the Vineyard Manager who will provide direction and support and we will provide any training necessary and assist with a career pathway.
To be successful in this position you will:
- Have the ability to perform your work with a high attention to detail
- Retain the high level of professionalism
- Be kind to machinery
- Be a team player
- Have good communication skills
- Be legally permitted to work in NZ, either a Citizen or Resident
- Have a full driver license and their own transport
This is a full-time permanent position; remuneration will be commensurate to the role and the applicants experience.
