Pernod Ricard Winemakers New Zealand has a fixed term parental leave cover position available for an Assistant Winemaker/Winemaker with relevant experience and skills. We are seeking a passionate, positive, capable and self-motivated individual to join our team.  This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of Marlborough’s largest wineries.

This fulltime fixed term position reports directly to the Senior Winemaker and provides oversight to our Winery Technician roles and assists in day to day winemaking activities at the Winery.  In addition, you will ensure the quality, cost-efficiency, legal and technical requirements for the various brands and wines produced are achieved.

To be successful in this role you will need a can-do attitude, enthusiasm, have problem solving skills, to be hard working and have the ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment with a safety focus. You should have a practical aptitude, good communication skills and an interest in wine. You must have previous experience as an Assistant Winemaker/Winemaker or similar role, to hit the ground running.

If you have the following attributes, we’d love to hear from you:

• Tertiary qualification in winemaking or a related technical field with a passion for making quality wine and an appreciation of wine styles and quality
• Proven winery experience and leadership skills
• Familiarity with recognized problem-solving methodology
• High level of competency with all Windows based applications
• Ability to function well in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A level of fitness adequate to cope with the physical nature of the position

A full clean Driver’s Licence is desirable.
