We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Manager to join our team and ensure the continued excellence of our wine production process.

Key Priorities include:

  • Quality Control: Conduct tests on wine samples throughout the production process, including harvest, fermentation, and bottling.

  • Data Management: Record and analyse laboratory results, maintain accurate data, and ensure timely entry into databases.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and troubleshooting any issues.

  • Research and Development: Evaluate and recommend new tests and technologies to improve quality control and winemaking processes.

  • Compliance: Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with industry standards and regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to address any concerns and participate in tastings and work in the cellar and vineyard as required. 

About you:

  • 3+ years of winery laboratory analysis and monitoring experience, especially Enzymatic Assays, F/TSO2, pH, TA, Brix by DMA and stability testing.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment maintenance.

  • Experience with vintrace and vinwizard.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Key Requirements:

  • Completion of medical and Ministry of Justice checks.

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
