Wine Marlborough represents the interests of all wine companies and grape growers in Marlborough and is right at the centre of the Marlborough's incredibly successful wine industry. Marlborough contributes approximately 80 percent of New Zealand's $1.8 billion in exports and produces about the same share of New Zealand's wine production. We are here to make Marlborough the world’s greatest wine region and events play a key part in this and what we do for our members and our community.
Our permanent Marketing and Communication Managers role is a key part of our teams outputs and has a wide range of functions. From the communications side you will not only have hands on input into our monthly magazine title, Winepress and its advertising content, you will also manage our social media, industry and media communications and website too. On the marketing front you will drive the design and implementation of a key piece of marketing strategy for the organisation and Marlborough wine industry that is due to be developed in early 2020. This is a chance to make your mark on the Marlborough wine industry's marketing direction.
You will bring proven marketing and communications experience but also be able to contribute in a meaningful way to both the organisations and industry's current and future development. Your responsibilities will include; delivering and growing wine industry marketing activities such as the #SavuBlanc Day campaign, Marlborough Cellar Door of the Year, QuayConnect Marlborough Wine Show judging and promotion, and developing hosting plans for visitors plus developing and implementing a marketing strategy to align with the organisations overall strategy to 2021 to be the world’s greatest wine region.
You will have the full support of an experienced team, a skilled board and industry peers to develop and implement marketing activities and communications plans. Your skills will reflect the above and you will have;
• Marketing experience and proven success in this area
• Skills in developing marketing briefs and pitching to agencies
• Experience in implementing a marketing plan and linking that to overall business strategy
• The ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines
• The capability to assume responsibility and lead projects
• Enough competence to contribute at a strategic level
• A commitment to our organisations character traits
