Whitehaven Wine Company is a well-established, family-owned, Marlborough wine company, based in the heart of Marlborough’s world famous wine growing region. Whitehaven prides itself on producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique characteristics of Marlborough and exporting these around the globe.
With the upcoming retirement of one our longest serving team members we are seeking to employ a planning and supply chain superstar to pick up the reigns in this very critical role.
This role is a diverse and very busy position which requires careful attention to detail, forward-planning as well as proactive communication and engagement with a large number of internal and external stakeholders. Due to the nature of the work it also requires a great deal of flexibility with hours worked and some weekend work as required.
This role is a vital link in the winery and would suit a person who can work as part of a team and be a self-starter, is prepared to operate autonomously at times, can meet deadlines and find solutions.
Key focus areas for the role would include:
- All supply chain management of external suppliers.
- Quality control systems and processes for all bottled wine via 3rd party as well as ensuring compliance systems and standards are met.
- Finished stock management.
- Procurement, planning, cost management and co-ordination of packaging, labels, dry goods and consumables for bottling.
- Liaison with key international suppliers for demand and shipping requirements.
- Providing support for warehousing, export shipping and logistics documentation.
- Scheduling bottling runs in co-ordination with the winery team to organise wine preparation and volume needs for various markets.
While experience with wine industry production and logistics planning will be an advantage, the successful candidate will not necessarily have to come from a wine industry role, but will have extensive production planning experience along with a knowledge of warehouse and shipping logistics.
