NZ Winegrowers Inc represents and promotes the interests of the NZ grape and wine industry. NZ Winegrowers Research Centre Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary through which the industry’s research strategy is implemented.
The primary purpose of this role is to assist selecting, implementing, reviewing and seeking funding for research projects that will benefit the sector. A key part of this role is establishing and maintaining strong working relationships within the wine industry, with researchers and research organisations, and with funding agencies. Engaging with these various stakeholders will be a key success factor, as will the ability to transfer research and innovation knowledge to industry members through workshops, field days and conferences.
Working across multiple research areas, the successful applicant will be highly-organised with excellent planning and time management skills.
Applicants must hold a degree, preferably post-graduate, majoring in grape or wine science, biology or related disciplines, and must have a keen interest in turning science and research into tangible outcomes for industry. Knowledge of the NZ wine industry and project management experience is preferred but not essential.
