Edge Viticulture is a locally owned and operated vineyard management and contracting business. We are currently seeking a full-time permanent employee to assist with our increasing work-load. This is a senior supervision position, based in the Renwick area and we operate on various vineyards across the Wairau and Awatere valleys.
You will ideally have previous experience with training and supervising vineyard staff. The work-load will be varied and the successful applicant will need to be able to work independently and think on their feet, problem solving as they go.
Key parts of the role during the Summer period, involve working with external labour providers to schedule work and ensure that it is completed to a high standard. You will also assist with machinery operation during peak periods and be responsible for irrigation monitoring and maintenance.
During the Winter months direct supervision and training of our own RSE and local pruners is required.
In down-times you will help out as required in other aspects of the business, such as machinery operation and hands-on vineyard tasks and maintenance.
The successful applicant must have:
- Full drivers licence
- Minimum 5 years vineyard experience
- Ability to work independently and self-manage
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours with early starts at peak periods
- Proven ability to keep accurate records
- Be physically fit and be able to work outdoors all year round
- Must be able to pass a drug test
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Experience with Vinea software
- Tractor and machinery operation experience
- Current First Aid and Growsafe Certificates
The remuneration package will reflect the experience and capability of the successful candidate. Necessary training will be provided to the successful applicant.
